Welcome to "Florida's Last Frontier" - Horseshoe Beach, FL

Horseshoe Beach is an isolated, laid back, friendly fishing village located on the Gulf of Mexico, 20 miles SW of Alt US 27, 2 hours from the major cities of Tallahassee, Gainesville, and Ocala.
Horseshoe sits squarely in the middle of the Big Bend area - halfway between the Suwannee and Steinhatchee Rivers on Florida's Nature Coast. The town is a fishing and boating community, home to a unique melting pot of permanent residents, weekend visitors, and seasonal tourists.
Fishing enthusiasts can find a range of appealing opportunities year round - from stalking pristine flats for big redfish to deep-sea trolling and bottom fishing, this place has it all. Airboats are abundant and kayakers find adventure exploring the shallow tidal grasslands.
Our town offers visitors a quiet, welcoming atmosphere with plenty of rental houses and condos, diverse services, and beautiful sunsets.

Finding Your Way Around
We're thrilled you're looking to visit us! If you're planning a day trip, all you'll need is directions - head to Cross City on US-19, then turn south at the sawmill on the west side of town onto SW 10th St. That will take you to SR-351. A right turn at the stop sign and you're on your way here. In Cross City proper, you can also turn by Lile's Ace Hardware - across the street from the Dairy Queen - directly onto SR-351. Cruise 20 miles down our long "Horseshoe Highway" and you'll find yourself in the middle of our town. Don't worry about going too far, the road makes a cul-de-sac at the point and will turn you around, right back into town.
Had a day's worth and can't get enough? You'll surely need accommodation. We have multiple motels in town, along with a few longer stay options. Take a look at our Services page for more information.
If you need snacks, pantry staples, hardware, or a home-cooked meal, several businesses in town are sure to be able to meet your needs. Our Services page keeps an updated list of service providers and business information.
Now that you've been around a bit and settled in, why not take a look at What's On in the Shoe for activity ideas, events, and more!
